I had such a fun time when I visited The Bungalow – Santa Monica so when my friends told me that they opened up a new location up here in the SF Bay, I knew I had to check it out! The Bungalow Kitchen, located on the waterfront in Tiburon captured the same home and lounge-by-the-water lifestyle but this location was more of a sit-down restaurant versus the bar social scene.
Based on what my friends shared, my positive experience with The Bungalow Santa Monica, and the photos on the website, I knew I wanted to host my birthday party here. I emailed the event planner (thanks Kristin!), set up a time to visit the restaurant and space, and signed the contract later that evening!
Private Events – The Sun Room
The Sun Room is located on the top floor of the restaurant and gives you THE best panoramic view of the San Francisco Bay and the city skyline. On warmer days, the roof opens up to bring in a little bit of that outdoor + indoor vibes.
I reserved the center section of the space and it felt like our own private event. With enough guests, there is the option to book the entire space with your own private bar service! The wait staff and bar staff were incredibly patient, kind, and hospitable – especially with our large group.
The Menu
For my event, I had the chance to personalize my menu with two starters, three entrees, two desserts, and drinks of choice. I went with the following:
The popular choices amongst my friends were the Ahi Tuna Tartare, Michael Mina’s Lobster Pot Pie, and the Meyer Lemon Crepe Cake; however, all of the dishes were delicious. The star of the show was the Lobster Pot Pie, the size was a LOT larger than I anticipated and given that there was no shortage of lobster chunks, the $45 price can be justified.
As for the cocktails & drinks … let’s just say, we had a VERY boozy brunch!
My Experience
Overall, my friends and I had an enjoyable experience at The Bungalow Kitchen. The staff were all so professional and friendly especially when it came to accommodating a large (and loud) group. The food was a hit and the ambiance was comfortable and a total vibe.
I would recommend this location if you’re looking for a little escape from the city (it is a bit of a drive to Tiburon but worth it on a beautiful day). And if you’re planning to do a private event such as a bridal shower, birthday, or rehearsal dinner – this place is already so beautifully decorated.
